Open your gates on Open Farm Sunday

Picture this …. 1000 farmers across the UK all opening their farm gates on the same day of the year - what a message that would send to the media and other food, farming and countryside commentators …. not to mention their non-farming neighbours and customers!

That is why LEAF, the NFU and the CLA would like to invite farmers to build on the success of the first ever Open Farm Sunday last year. A day when more than 300 farmers hosted an open day for a total of over 30,000 local neighbours, friends and customers to celebrate all that is good in the countryside and make the link between food, environmental management and farming.

From Highlands to Fens, from Wolds to the Weald, the 10th June 07 is for Speaking Out and all those visitors to the countryside will get more than a wonderful view. They’ll get a window on farmers that keep the shops stocked with quality British food and the countryside alive with wildlife.
