Pacific keen on organic farming

As demand for organic produce continues to grow worldwide, the Pacific's organic farmers are keen to produce and export organic products.

But before they can market their products internationally, they need to show they are meeting accepted standards for organic production.

The Regional Organic Task Force has been given the job of drawing up suitable standards.

Its second meeting next week at Raffles Gateway Hotel, Nadi will result in members reviewing the second draft of the Pacific organic standards and finalise the document.
