Pig problems put 1,000 local jobs in jeopardy
Some 400 workers laid off from the Rosderra pig factory in Roscrea are fearing a bleak Christmas as the battle continues to resolve the crisis that has brought production in the sector to a standstill.
They fear that even if production does resume in the coming days it could still be weeks before full production is resumed, leaving them facing the prospect of being on the dole queue for weeks.
