Rain takes toll on peach crop

The weekend rain has destroyed part of the peach crop in the Goulburn Valley in north-east Victoria.

Up to 100 millimetres of rain was recorded in the region over the past three days.

The rain is good for pears and apples, but it caused some plums to split and knocked many peaches off the trees.

Mooroopna orchardist Peter Hall says the peach loss is disappointing, but he will cope because he has other fruit.
