Red Tractor award for Warner Leisure Hotels

Warner Leisure Hotels has become the first hotel group in the UK to have one of its hotels, Littlecote House Hotel in Hungerford, Berkshire, awarded the Red Tractor logo, demonstrating its commitment to providing guests with quality assured produce from British farms. The hotel received recognition of its Red Tractor status as it was awarded a plaque in front of a life size red tractor.

Visitors to the Warner Leisure owned hotel will see the Red Tractor logo on the restaurant menu and the organisation has invested in an in-house marketing campaign to educate all staff members on the benefits of the scheme. The hotel’s Red Tractor assured produce is sourced from Prime Meats and Pauleys, both Red Tractor accredited specialist fresh produce divisions of leading food service supplier Brakes Group.

Julia Mooney, Head of Marketing for Assured Food Standards, who presented Littlecote House Hotel with its plaque says: "Littlecote House deserves real recognition as the first hotel to receive Red Tractor accreditation for its restaurant menu and its commitment to buying and serving quality farm assured produce. It is an extremely exciting business development for Assured Food Standards, working alongside Warner Leisure Hotel Group to take Red Tractor into the hotel sector to promote professionally grown, quality products."

David Grindrod, Food Development Manager for Warner Leisure Hotels says: "We are delighted to be the first hotel to receive Red Tractor accreditation both in the UK and within the Warner Leisure Hotels Group. The move demonstrates how we continually look to push the boundaries in the catering industry and set new standards in customer service.

"We are increasingly finding our guests want locally sourced produce and becoming licensed with the Red Tractor logo is an ideal way of signalling our intention to meet these requests."

Warner Leisure Hotels, which won the coveted Hotel Group of the Year 2008-2009 award, is aiming to roll out the Red Tractor logo to more of its 13 hotels and resorts over the coming months.

The red tractor provided on the day was kindly supplied by Massey Ferguson, a long-term supporter of the Red Tractor scheme.
