7,000 CATTLE FROM AUSTRALIA.
There is a new consortium of mining and restaurant companies in Russia, that have plans to increase their farm holding in Bashkiria to be in a position to breed sufficient cattle to produce 60,000 tons of beef a year.
The company have purchased 7,000 head of breeding cattle from Australia, that will be shipped to Russia and the have plans to build their own state of the art abattoir.
The ultimate goal is to have 800,000 hectares of farm land by the end of 2014, some leased and some bought outright.
According to Mkhail Zelman, the company head much of the investment is already in place with private investors.
