Pork processors Ostakino Meat Processing, in the Orel region of Russia, are spending US$ 42.6 million to develop a new 50,000 pig unit, to produce pigs for their own production.
This is in line with the government policy of Russia, becoming self sufficient in meat production.
The payback period on the money is nine years, the company is very confident that it will have no problems meeting that deadline.
