Miratorg to Open Distribution Center of World Standards in Kaliningrad
On March 11, 2009 the Distribution Center of Agribusiness Holdings Miratorg was put into operation in Kaliningrad region. The facility’s storage capacity totals to 6 thousand tons or more than 4.5 thousand pallets. The project investment value exceeded 370m rubles. The Center is to reach its full capacity by February 2009. It is the first refrigerating plant of world standards and the third low-temperature warehouse of the holding.
The Distribution Center is intended for acceptance, storage, procurement and shipment of all types of frozen and chilled products of Agribusiness Holdings Miratorg and other food producers, as well as for meeting the needs of retail chains. Around 50% of the Center’s capacities are to be used in the market of provision of services on storage, packaging, procurement and shipment of goods.
The Distribution Center is located in village Zaozerie of Gurievsky district, 2 kilometers away from Kaliningrad ring road, in the main federal highway of the Region – Moskovsky prospect. The complex total floor area amounts to 9 thousand square metres. The center includes the following facilities: a low-temperature warehouse, a three-storey headquarters, a vehicular maintenance center with a washing unit and equipment for freight transport decontamination, packing lot for 30 units of large cargo vehicles.
The complex was projected and constructed by Kaliningrad Institute Promproekt within the record short time (from July 2007 to December 2008). The Center is equipped in accordance with the highest world standards and with machinery of the leading manufacturers: ISOCAB (France/Belgium); ROSS and OM (Italy), Bitzer (Germany).
Construction features of the warehouse afford to store any products in accordance with veterinary and sanitary requirements of Russia and EU for food storage and handling. All veterinary services, control and document preparation are effected in the territory of the distribution center by Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kaliningrad Region Administration.
