SCOTLAND-The bull trade dominated most of the proceedings at a pedigree and commercial sale of Holstein cattle at Ayr, on Tuesday, where all three top prices were for males.
Tops at 4100gns was Townlaw Dolton, from the father and son team of Bryce and Robert Sloan, Darnlaw, Auchinleck. Their 17-month-old black bull by Landino Park Talent, is bred from six generations of VG and Ex cows, of which five are Ex, with the dam, Townlaw Iron Bellado Ex90 being a former reserve champion heifer at the West of Scotland Dairy Show. Dolton is also a maternal sister to the VG86 Townlaw Paradise Bellado, and sold to Messrs Gatherer, Hill of Ochiltree.
