NFU Scotland’s new Board of Directors met for the first time following the Council meeting at Aviemore last week. NFUS President, Jim McLaren chairs the Board, accompanied by the Union’s Vice-presidents, Nigel Miller and Allan Bowie. Jim McLaren has been elected for another two-year term. Both Vice-presidents will serve a one-year term.The Union’s Treasurer, George Lawrie, also sits on the board, accompanied by National Committee Chairmen and Regional Board Chairmen.. NFUS Chief Executive, James Withers completes the board line-up.The NFUS Board of Directors for 2009/10 is as follows (new Board members indicated):National Committee Chairmen:
Combinable Crops Committee: John Picken, Priorletham, St Andrews..
Environment and Land Use Committee: Alan Crichton, Millhouse, Kirkgunzeon, Dumfries.
Legal and Technical Committee: Jamie Smart, Balderston, Linlithgow.
Less Favoured Areas Committee: Sandy Tulloch, Miltonbank, Lumphanan, Banchory.
Livestock Committee: Rob Livesey, Firth Farm, Catshawhill, Melrose. (New)
