National agronomy and crop protection specialist Agrovista UK Limited is, for the 4th year running, running winter training courses in support of the National Register of Sprayer Operators (NRoSO) throughout Scotland and the UK.
This year's topic will be On Target – Accurate Application. As its name suggests, will focus on ensuring pesticides reach their target and do not pose a threat to the environment or bystanders through drift for example.
For each of the last three years, Agrovista has trained over 1,000 farmers and sprayer operators at its nation-wide series of events. This year the company aims to increase this number and the number of venues at which the training is provided.
The following " On Taget" workshops are still available throughout the North East.
Wed a.m. 31st Jan AM Phillip, Ardlaw, Fraserburgh
Thursday a.m. 1st Feb Mackies, Westertown, Rothienorman
Monday p.m. 5th Feb Agrovista, Troves, Elgin
Tuesday evening 6th Feb Munlochy Hotel, Munlochy Ross-shire
Thurday evening 8th Feb Barn & Bushel, Thainstone Agri Centre, Inverurie
"With NRoSO claiming many sprayer operators have not achieved their full allocation of 30 points before the end of their first 3-year period of membership, many are conscious of the need to attend training within the next couple of months. Our courses are able to provide 8 CPD points this year, but farmers and operators may also gain more points through meetings with their agronomists if they are recorded on the appropriate NRoSO forms."
Says Agrovista's Stewart Rothnie, Agronomist based at the Agrovista Elgin depot.
