The finest seasonal produce, fresh from the autumn larder take centre stage at Malton’s Autumn Event - based around fine food and game - in this North Yorkshire historic town.
Local Michelin starred chef Andrew Pern from the acclaimed Harome gastro pub The Star, who delighted the crowds at Malton’s first Food Lovers Festival in May, returns with recipes, demonstrations and tastings to tempt everyone’s inner gourmet. The highly successful Farmer’s Market, Farming events and use of local produce will play a major part.
Tom Naylor-Leyland, son of Sir Philip, whose family has been landlord of the town for many years, will be taking a special part in the event, bringing in his individual knowledge for the hunting, shooting and fishing experience.
Malton is now bucking the trend which is seeing many rural towns fighting for their existence. The townsfolk have pulled together and enjoying an increase of trading of 19% and a 27% like for like increase in visitors since the beginning of the year through their hard work.
