Sorting out SPS for 2006

Horticultural and potato growers from around the East Midlands region are invited to two NFU East Midlands seminars on Horticulture and the Single Payment Scheme at Newark Showground or Springfields Exhibition Centre, Spalding, next month.

Simon Fisher, NFU's regional food and farming adviser said: "These meetings are designed to update growers on the current situation concerning RPA processing of 2005 applications, and the allocation of FVP (fruit, vegetable and potato) authorised entitlements. It will also cover what growers need to consider in terms of suitable arrangements for 2006. It will help to explain this more complex areas of the Single Payment Scheme to growers."

The speakers at the seminar will be Simon Fisher, NFU East Midlands' senior food and farming adviser and Julie Robinson of Roythornes, NFU's eastern regions' legal panel firm.

The NFU East Midlands Horticulture and the Single Payment Scheme seminars will take place on Wednesday 7 December 2005. The first meeting will start at 10.00am at the Stuart Goodwin Pavilion, Newark Showground with the second starting at 2.30pm at the Marquee Room, Springfields Exhibition Centre, Spalding.
