Sugar beet contractor celebrates!

In 2007 Cliff Armsby at CS Armsby & Sons celebrated his 50th year of agricultural contracting with the purchase of a brand new

HOLMER TERRA-DOS T3 sugar beet harvester. The new machine replaced his previous HOLMER. But that wasn't his original choice!

Having ordered a factory refurbished machine at the end of 2006, Cliff then had a demonstration of the newly launched TERRA-DOS T3 model; it quickly became obvious that the latest T3 version offered significant output advantages. So the order was changed to a new model, one of the first off the production line for '07, it was displayed at CEREALS 2007.

Today Cliff runs the business based at Wereham near Kings Lynn with sons Andy and Jason. Together they work as a highly efficient team, dedicated to good service. A reputation for dependability and consistently high quality work has enabled CS Armsby & Sons to build a loyal and regular customer base. Cliff considers investing in reliable and up to date equipment as being vital to ensure customer satisfaction.

Choosing a HOLMER again for its proven reliability and high quality harvesting, Cliff is also pleased with the latest models lack of thirst for diesel. Andy Armsby, who does most of the harvester operating, says he finds the machine easy to use, with the colour screen monitor/computer 'self-explanatory'.

A road speed of 32km/h and a turning circle of just 8.1 metres mean the HOLMER is fast on the road and manoeuvrable in the field. The new HOLMER averages about 1.5 hectares an hour, typically harvesting around 45 acres a day, comfortably.

CS Armsby & Sons offer a comprehensive contracting service; full farm contracts, combining, and all sugar beet related work including drilling and spraying.

Starting sugar beet contracting with a Catchpole Cadet, Cliff then graduated to Standen Solobeet and Cyclone models, followed by his first 6-row machines from Herriau, Matrot and Riecam before changing to HOLMER in 2003.

Cliff and his sons now look forward to many more years of successful harvesting using HOLMER machines; the world's most popular sugar beet harvester.
