Syngenta is Committed to Maintaining the Future of Agriculture through Florida Scholarship Support

Continuing its investment in the future of agriculture, Syngenta Crop Protection helped select Derek Orsenigo of the University of Florida as this year's recipient of the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association's (FFVA) education scholarship. Orsenigo, who is currently pursuing his bachelor's degree in Agricultural Operations Management, received the scholarship at the FFVA's 64th Annual Convention in Boca Raton, Fla., on September 18. The scholarship recognizes students pursuing careers in agriculture who display a financial need. This is the fourth consecutive year Syngenta has sponsored the FFVA education scholarship.

"We congratulate Derek on winning this prestigious scholarship and applaud his decision to pursue a career in agriculture," said Sean Knapp, Florida/Puerto Rico district manager for Syngenta. rsenigo's varied activities and his work experience will help him achieve his educational and career goals. Upon graduation, Orsenigo plans to pursue a career in the vegetable and sugarcane industries in South Florida.
