The Dairy Show Dinner – 30th September 2008

Nominations are now being invited for this year's prestigious Dairy Industry Award, presented to the individual thought to have made the most outstanding contribution towards the development of the Dairy Industry in 2008.

This is one of the highest honours bestowed by the Dairy Industry and looks to recognise the achievements of one of their own. All those involved in the industry may put forward names to be considered and the final winner will be chosen by a panel of three judges.

The winner will be invited to attend the Dairy Industry Dinner, which takes place on the eve of the Dairy Show held at the Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet. They will be presented with their award during the evening by a representative of Dairy Crest who are joint sponsors of the Dinner with Lloyds TSB Agriculture.

The Dairy Show attracts large numbers of dairy farmers each year and is now recognised to be the 'hands-on' event for the industry with cattle at the heart of the show. In addition to the livestock classes, other attractions include over 250 trade stands, the ever popular Speakers Corner, the South West Dairy Farmer Awards and industry seminars held in the Showground's theatre.

Nominations need to be sent in to Mr Paul Hooper by the end of August - the closing date for nominations is 30th August 2008. Nomination Forms can be found on the Royal Bath and West of England Society website www.bathandwest.com and can be downloaded.
