On 26th March 2015 the Three Counties Showground at Malvern will host the UK’s first Precision Dairy Management Conference. The day will include sessions on heifer management, precision feeding, innovative health management and successful fertility with expert speakers from the industry and leading farmers presenting.
The day will aim to inform producers and the wider industry as to the latest innovations and technologies that are pushing the top 10% of dairy farmers to continue to lead the way in terms of productivity and profitability.
Kat Bazeley from Synergy Farm Health and Mark Humphrey from Manor Farm, Isle Abbotts will discuss heifer management in relation to key performance indicators, setting and achieving targets for growth and data collection.
Reviewing what technological tools are out there to help farmers and vets manage data for improved herd health issues such as Johnes, TB and IBR will be Peter Orpin, of Park Vet Group.
Richard Pilkington from Shordley Hall Farm has been adopting new technology to monitor rumination with the aim of reducing metabolic diseases.
Can plotting performance of cow fertility help identify problems before they arise? Dr James Hanks from PanLivestock looks at how this can be achieved with Interherd.
Heat and pregnancy detection with in-line milk sampling and other possibilities with this technology will be covered by Kieran Fitzgerald from De Laval, following the launch of Herd Navigator last year in the UK.
