A SMALL show of Whitebred Shorthorn bulls and females led the trade at a breeding cattle sale, which included pedigree and non-pedigree Galloways, at Carlisle last week.
Sale topper, at 2000gns, was the Whitebred champion, Parton Degree, a rising two-year-old bull from Andrew Hewson, Burgh Head Farm, Burgh By Sands, Carlisle. One of the first bulls to be sold off the Carlisle-bought Broadleyfold Craig, and out of a home-bred dam, he sold to J Savery and Son, Lincombe, Totnes, Devon.
