An Illinois farming company has sold breeding pigs to China to the value of $1,7 million this week.
This makes a total of $8 million worth of live pigs shipped from the USA to China since 2008.
China is trying to build up its pig herd with high quality European and American stock and eventually become self sufficient in pork production.
The deal took two years to put together and there are more orders in the pipeline.
