UNITED STATES-A FEW MORE CATTLE ON OFFER.
The overall number of slaughter-ready cattle being
offered for sale this week is thought to be up a little from last week,
although regional variations likely exist. Sales last week were light and
weren’t enough to clean out many feedlot showlists, market analysts said.
Unsold cattle should be swelling this week’s feedlot showlists, but one market
analyst/trader said it looks as though many feeders left the bulk of what would
be this week’s showlist cattle off the market just to avoid having them swell
the ranks of for-sale cattle and pressure prices.
