UNITED STATES-NATURAL ANGUS BEEF.
The state of Montana and Meyer Natural Angus are gaining a wide reputation for some of the best "natural" beef in the market, and now is a great time to try red angus beef at special prices. Tom Bedell, Managing Director for Asia and the Middle East, introduced the company and its products at a press conference April 14 in Taipei .
Montana is the fourth largest state in the U.S. yet has a population of less than a million people. That leaves a lot of room for undeveloped natural landscape as well as the state’s number one industry - ranching.
Robert E. Meyer made his way into the beef business in 1990 with the purchase of 47,000 acres (5.5million sq.m.) of land near Helmville to raise Red Angus cattle using strictly natural methods. That means no hormones, no antibiotics, and no animal products in the feed, as well as no electronic prods, dogs or ATVs during round-ups. This results in animals that develop slowly and free from stress.
The Sonoma Steak House in the Ambassador Hotel is offering a special introduction to Meyer Natural Angus at NT$1,000 plus 10% per person from now until June 30, with Executive Chef Chen Cheng-teh using various cooking methods to prepare a variety of cuts. The menu includes boneless rib, sirloin steak and hamburger and is limited to ten persons a day.
