Employees and government leaders say North Star Foods officials want to rebuild the St. Charles meat-processing plant destroyed by fire last week.
But the question is where.
North Star officials met with employees Tuesday but barred reporters from attending.
St. Charles Mayor Bill Spitzer told reporters that there was no official word, but that the plant owners ``intend to rebuild.’’
Spitzer doesn’t know if they will rebuild in St. Charles or elsewhere. He says the plant employs 53 full-time employees and about 200 temporary workers.
