United States-Peanut farmers in trouble after salmonella.

UNITED STATES-PEANUT FARMING.

Farmers in the United States have planted 30 per cent less land with peanuts this year, due to a salmonella scare.

The bacteria affected more than 600 people across the US and food items like biscuits, icecream and cereal were recalled.

The problem was traced back to poor hygiene in a factory.

Brownfield Agriculture says fewer contracts have been offered to growers.
