POULTRY ACCORD WITH CAMBODIA.

Government officials from Cambodia and Vietnam, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, to inspect all animal and poultry cargo that crosses the border between the two countries.

The agreement signed on 29 December, by the agricultural ministries of both countries, stipulates the construction of 11 new inspection facilities on the common border between the two countries.

Kao Phal, director of the Animal Health and Production Department, said the ministry also requested training facilities for staff who were employed as inspectors, to be able to detect disease and sickness in animals.

He went on to say, " The agreement will help curb the disease from spreading from farm to farm and animal to animal, especially in relation to bird flu".
