Volatility in wheat will continue says trader
WHEAT remains an extremely volatile and dangerous market to trade in.
That is the view of Gleadell managing director David Sheppard who says wild price movement, often for no discernible reason, is an almost daily event.
"We can only see this continuing. Price movement for the 2008/9 season has already seen a £60-plus trading range but this has some way to go to match this season's movement of £100-plus.
"The challenge of crop marketing is becoming harder and fundamental market information, and access to it, will be the key to a successful risk management policy," says Mr Sheppard.
