James Purdey & Sons, the world renowned gun and rifle makers, have appointed Ling's Country Goods in Great Massingham as an outlet for their exclusive country clothing and sporting accessories.
Ling's becomes one of only a handful of retailers worldwide to be selected as a supplier of Purdey's luxury goods.
Chris Hunter, wholesale manager of James Purdey & Sons, said: "Independent family run shops such as Ling's provide a high quality customer service and we are looking forward to working with them."
Ling's Country Goods was set up by the Morton family in 1997 as a farm diversification enterprise selling firearms, cartridges, clothing and a gunsmith service. Making successful progress, they purchased Jem Pet Supplies in 2002. In addition to their own input, the Mortons now employ three staff and are doubling the size of the shop to accommodate growth.
Additional diversification includes let shooting days which the Mortons introduced in
2004 and last year they launched an innovative simulated game shooting venture amusingly called Hot Flushes.
John Morton of Ling's Country Goods said: "Our customers see us a one-stop shop for country pursuits and we serve people from all walks of life. We had been looking for a top quality range of clothing and accessories to complement the other brands we sell, so we were really pleased when Purdey approached us. We've selected a wide range of items to suit all budgets. For example, the gun oils and gun patches cost under £5. We've also got socks, tie-pins, cufflinks, wallets, ties, shirts, jumpers, breeks and shooting coats with prices ranging from £30 to £600. As ever, we like to think we've got something for everyone."
