Yeo Valley Organic helps fuel young rugby stars

Yeo Valley Organic teamed up with England and Bath rugby star Olly Barkley to teach young people about the importance of healthy eating by sponsoring EAT Elektrik, part of the Elektrik 3 Olly Barkley Rugby Academy at Colston’s School, Bristol from 22-24 July 2011.

Yeo Valley Organic is a firm favourite with Olly and his team mates as not only does the yogurt provide an energising low fat snack without compromising on taste, their products are also a versatile ingredient for healthy cooking. Two of Olly’s favourite recipes are a Berry Breakfast Smoothie and Frozen Yogurt which are both made using Yeo Valley Organic yogurt.

EAT Elektrik is a high performance nutrition programme aimed at young players, helping to teach them about eating healthily and the importance of a balanced diet. During the programmes, the players were served up delicious snacks including Olly’s Breakfast Smoothie, Hask’s Homemade Burger and Freddie Burn’s Frozen Yogurt.

Elektrik 3 is a coaching programme constructed by Olly Barkley. It aims to improve young people’s rugby skills, giving them a new motivation and inspiration for the game, as well as providing them with an insight into the importance of a nutrition programme.
