Seventy guests attended a beef dinner at The London Beach Hotel, near Tenterden, to support Great British Beef Week.

The beef dinner included beef from Silcocks Farm in Kent, as well as local produce and wine.

The hotel’s charitable trust kindly donated towards the evening, ensuring the grand total raised on the night was £3,077.

During the evening, Julian Barnes from Biddenden Vineyard was acknowledged and thanked for his ongoing support of R.A.B.I. The historic Biddenden Estate spans 23 acres and some 80,000 bottles of wine are made each year from 11 different grapes.

Charles Tassell, Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I) Kent committee chairman said: “We’re extremely grateful for all the support we received at our beef dinner – it was a wonderful evening with great food, wine and company.”

Sally Field, R.A.B.I Regional Manager, added: “Great British Beef Week champions Red Tractor assured suppliers so consumers can rely on quality and easily trace where their food comes from, all the way from farm to fork.”
