Prime Minister Theresa May will be ready for a post-election reshuffle — and a big win might mean she could drop Andrea Leadsom as Environment Secretary.

Some ministers fear a huge majority will give the PM strength to reshuffle her Cabinet in order to bolster her powerbase.

Mrs May is working on a hit list of Cabinet members she plans to ditch or move.

Justice Secretary Liz Truss and Communities Secretary Sajid Javid are in the firing line, according to well-placed sources.

The Foreign Secretary’s fellow Brexiteer Liam Fox, the International Trade Secretary, would also be vulnerable.

And Andrea Leadsom, the Environment Secretary, is allegedly in Mrs May’s sights.

Ms Leadsom made clear when she ran for the top job that she would like the ban on foxhunting to be repealed and once hinted that EU farm subsidies should be completely phased out.

But she has been criticised by the farming community and the devolved administrations for refusing to provide any substantial detail about a post-Brexit agricultural policy.

Leadsom was appointed the government's Environment Secretary after a string of Cabinet appointments in July last year.

It is not yet known who the top contestants to succeed Leadsom are if there was to be a Cabinet reshuffle.
