A Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) has been stolen from a farm owned by a famous clay pigeon shooter in broad daylight.

Police are seeking to return the off-road vehicle, stolen from a rural property in Peasmarsh, East Sussex, to its rightful owner.

The owner is George Digweed MBE, who has 26 clay pigeon shooting world titles.

Mr Digweed said on social media: "This was stolen in broad daylight with two people within yards of where it was stolen who were emptying a barn of rape into a lorry.

"There have been many of these farm burglaries in the area and they must be stopped. They were caught on CCTV as well - so as soon as I have the footage I will post it."

CCTV on the farm showed the crime happen.

The blue electric Polaris and its trailer were taken from the address in Wittersham Road at about 2.44pm on Thursday (20 July).

A dark green or blue Mercedes E-class estate was seen to drive to the property, before making off with the buggy a short time later.

Sussex Police have said if anyone has been offered an off-road vehicle fitting the description of the one stolen, please report it online quoting serial 1123 of 20/07.
