A farmer has had his tractor, worth around £30,000, stolen from a farm in Norfolk.

The tractor, a New Holland T6070 with registration number HX59 JXL, was taken from J Bond and Son, on Bonds Road in Blofield Heath, near Norwich, in the early hours of Thursday morning (1 June).

Because other newer tractors and workshop equipment were left behind, farmer David Bond believes the vehicle could have been “stolen to order”.

“I think they knew exactly what they were looking for,” he told Norfolk Eastern Daily Press. “The tractor is probably abroad already, in a lorry, or it could be parked up in a wood or remote spot waiting to see if it has a tracker and anyone comes after it.

“Very annoyingly, it was attached to a forager which we use for flailing off mint stalk, they dropped off the main part of the flail, but went off with the frame and gearbox, which was on the three-point linkage. So we now can’t use that machine either.”

Mr Bond said he wanted to warn other farmers to secure their equipment, and appealed for information about the theft, which is being investigated by Norfolk police.

Anyone with information should contact Norfolk police on 101.
