Farming Minister George Eustice will speak at a fringe event organised by The Vegan Society during the Conservative Party Conference.

Mr Eustice, who comes from a farming background, will be attending a panel discussion organised by the campaign group during the Conservative Party Conference on 2 October.

The society said "vegan rights" will feature at this year’s Conservative Party Conference.

This includes their Catering for Everyone campaign, which aims to have daily vegan food options on every public sector menu.

The society will be seeking signatures from government officials to secure the move.

Louise Davies, Vegan Society Head of Campaigns, who will speak at the fringe events, said: “Service providers have an obligation to provide for vegans but sadly, provision for vegans in the public sector is lacking, with hospital patients and school children often going hungry.”

Mr Eustice will also be attending an RSPCA fringe event looking into the future of higher welfare farming and British agriculture post-Brexit on 30 September.
