An investigation is underway following the death of a man on a farm in North Cumbria.

He was struck by a tractor at Wragmire Bank Farm, Cumwhinton at around 9am on Thursday (26 January).

Police confirmed the 57-year-old man from the Penrith area was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.

Officers from the Health and Safety Executive are investigating.

A spokesperson for the Health and Safety Executive said: "We were informed by the police at 10:15am on Thursday. We will be leading the investigation into this incident but as it at an early stage, we cannot comment further."
