Meadow Foods, the UK’s largest independent dairy, has announced that it will be increasing its milk price by +1.15ppl from 1st October, taking their standard A litre milk price to 21.15ppl.

In addition to this A litre price increase, Meadow Foods has announced that its B price for September will be ahead of the 25ppl forecast and will in fact be 26ppl.

Meadow Foods also estimate that the B price for October will be 'no lower than 27ppl.'

Simon Chantler, Executive Chairman at Meadow Foods, comments: “We are delighted to announce for the fourth consecutive month that Meadow Foods is increasing its A litre price.

"These increases continue to move our price forward, but we realise that more work has to be done.

"We hope the current positivity within the market continues, and we will make every effort to return any improvements as quickly as possible to our producers."

Last month, Meadow Foods also announced that they had written to farmers to reassure them that the company would not be penalizing them for any under supply during these challenging times.

Meadow Foods is the UK’s largest independently owned dairy group and leading supplier of milk based dairy ingredients to the food industry.

Meadow Foods currently handles more than 500 million litres of milk each year direct from over 550 farmer suppliers from across the North of England, Midlands and North & West Wales.

The company, founded in 1992, operates from factories in Chester, Peterborough and Holme-on-Spalding Moor and now employs more than 275 people.
