Sheep rustlers steal 14 sheep and 22 lambs from North Yorks farm

Sheep rustlers have stolen 14 sheep and 22 lambs from a farm in North Yorkshire.

Sheep rustling has been reported in Craven, in the Horton-in-Ribblesdale area.

North Yorkshire Police say that an incident was reported on Monday (18 September) of 14 sheep and 22 lambs being stolen.

The sheep and lambs can be identified by a blue line down the back of their leg and have ear tag number UK 125 089.

In the past couple of weeks, North Yorkshire saw two separate livestock crime incidents.

The first incident happened in the Eldroth/Austwick area, where North Yorkshire Police say 12 sheep were reported stolen in the area on Saturday (9 September).

A second incident of sheep rustling was reported in the Settle area on 8 September.

Attacks on livestock in the UK is becoming 'more and more of a problem' as rural police stations face closure, according to a report.
