An 18-year-old farm worker has been fined £50 after driving his tractor around a city centre "looking for women".

Anthony Breslin, a farm worker from Gortnaskea, Burnfoot, took his tractor to Londonderry city centre and sought out women on August 16.

Mr Breslin admitted one charge of driving a tractor without displaying his learner driver plate.

Breslin's solicitor said: "We all know tractors are all about pulling power, but this is taking it to the extreme."

Mr Breslin's father had sent the farm worker out "looking for cattle", which he did do but then "took the head staggers" and arrived in Londonderry on the tractor looking for women.

Barney McElholm, the district judge, described Mr Breslin as a "Don Juan". "I was going to say Derry Juan but that is not quite correct," he added.
