Sheep have been struck and killed by a vehicle in what is thought to be a deliberate and "mindless" attack.

Between 4pm on Saturday (22 September) and 9am on Sunday (23 September) a vehicle was driven into a field on Two Pot Farm, near Wilburton, Cambridgeshire.

Eight sheep died following the attack and two were gravely injured. Cambridgeshire Police are now appealing for more information.

Lou Flint, 46, a farmer from Haddenham near Ely, made the grim discovery.

She discovered eight sheep scattered across the field. Two sheep were suffering from shattered legs and had to be put down later that day.

On a Facebook post, Lou, who has farming for 30 years, said some "cruel, mindless" people broke into the field and began mowing the sheep down.

The cost of the attack is estimated to be in the region of £2,500.
