The British Pig and Poultry Fair 2006 to open a day earlier!

The British Pig and Poultry Fair 2006 will now run a day earlier than previously announced, on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th May at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

The decision to open a day earlier follows an announcement made two weeks ago that the VIV Europe (Utrecht) event has moved from November 2005 to 16th

- 18th May 2006.

As organisers of the British Pig and Poultry Fair, Haymarket Land Events, were concerned about the possible effect this may have on Fair exhibitors, a number of whom also exhibit at VIV.

A major consultation was undertaken over the last two weeks. This involved a telephone campaign to those exhibitors who were likely to be the most affected and was followed by a steering group meeting to review options and, finally, an open debate with all participants at the Fair.

"We have received overwhelming support for the event to remain in May 2006. We were asked to look at the possibility of increasing the gap between the two events to allow the shipping of equipment from the Fair to VIV," says Dominique Loral, Managing Director of Haymarket Land Events.

"We are therefore delighted to be able to announce that the 2006 British Pig and Poultry Fair will move forwards by a day and we will work in partnership with VIV Europe to arrange timely breakdown and shipping from Stoneleigh to Utrecht for those exhibitors concerned."
