Craigie's Farm Deli & Cafe

Looking for a hearty breakfast, lunch or an early tea? Then a visit to Craigie Farm deli and shop will be sure to hit the spot. We provide a selection of freshly made food using ingredients from the farm or a local source. We are passionate about sourcing high quality, local produce and that’s why we chose Award winning butcher, Steve Mitchell.

We have our own in house bakery now, run by Paula, who specialises in a variety of lovingly baked cakes, cupcakes, tray bakes, scones, meringues, fruit pies and much more. You can enjoy all these with a large cuppa and comfy seat in the cafe and even buy them to take away from the shop. Or why not come fill your basket in our Deli and Shop with some fresh produce straight from our farm. You can also find hand-selected products from very local suppliers. Our shelves are stocked with lots of tasty foods and treats just at arm’s length. The Deli is packed with delicious delicacies both homemade and locally produced, from the Scottish cheeses to our selection of Great Glen Game Charcuterie, cold meats and the finest of olives, along with many more.

Love your meat but prefer to know where it comes from? Like the good old days, our meat is locally sourced and piled high on our butchery counter. Our Butcher will provide the perfect cut and is full of good advice and ideas on request. If you need to entertain the kids, come to us for a great family day out! We have a kid’s play park, surrounded with seating from the café. If you need to stretch the legs then we have a nature detective trail around the farm. You can also come feed the animals or collect your owns eggs too and if you still have time, why not squeeze in a quick game Frisbee golf!

In the height of summer we have our PYO available 7 days a week! So why not come and try picking some fruit, whether it’s for pudding that night or jam making for Christmas, we have plenty!

Don’t worry if you have a dog, they will be comfy in our Craigie’s Canine Cafe. You can enjoy lunch as a family too, with Lily’s Kitchen dog food and treats in the shop. The Canine cafe has benches so you can enjoy the view over the forth.

Working farm

We thought it would be a great idea to allow young children to grow their own fruit and vegetables and learn how a farm works, but not in the usual textbook manner. Here at Craigie’s we have built allotments for the local school children where our farm manager teaches them the basics of agriculture. We have also have farmed a farm club in conjunction with the Royal Highland Education Trust. Although Craigie’s is no longer a livestock farm we have established a flock of hens and young George looks after the pigs and piglets. We borrow sheep and in the spring time lambs for bottle feeding. There are also horses ponies to see.

Jam Kitchen

Also on the farm is our very own Jam Kitchen. The Sinclair’s have been producing jam since the mid 80’s. We have a wide range of jams, chutneys, Fruit vinegars, and jellies all made from our own fruit which we freeze for winter use. These are sold in the shop and also sold in wholesale to other farm shops and garden centres around Scotland.

Farm Shop and Cafe

Our cafe has seating for 200 people inside and out. The cosy corner was added in 2009 and it is a relaxing dining area with comfy couches and it has amazing views over the Pentlands Hills and the River Forth. This area can also be used for small functions and events with French doors leading onto the decking. The shop is filled with local produce fresh from the farm and other local suppliers. You will find more and more tasty products coming direct from the fields to our shelves these days. We have specially selected hampers made to order and available all year round so every present is sorted. All you have to do is ask for details!
