Nestled in the heart of Mayfield Valley, our Alpaca Petting Farm and Animal Sanctuary is a tranquil haven for animal lovers of all ages. Whether you're seeking a relaxing day out, a chance to connect with our friendly alpacas, or to learn more about these gentle creatures, you've come to the right place. Mayfield Alpacas Farm & Animal Sanctuary is situated on Fulwood Lane in Ringinglow, Sheffield. At Mayfield Alpacas we offer a unique visitor attraction, children's party and play experience and of course sanctuary to a number of different animals, including, goats, ponies, pigs, ducks and guinea pigs.

HOW IT ALL STARTED AT MAYFIELD ALPACAS
Elaine Sharp began breeding Alpacas in 1998 as a distraction from her ongoing cancer treatment. These unusual creatures quickly caught the public's interest and in 2001 Mayfield Alpacas was established.

It quickly became a popular visitor attraction and in 2006 a small coffee shop was opened and other species were introduced.

In 2024 the business and site were sold to a new owner who is continuing with the good work that was laid before him. Following this takeover, the site has been cleared and landscaped, refenced and pathed throughout. The café has been completely refitted and rebranded with a healthy and wholesome breakfast and lunch menu available. Visitors can eat in or take away.

PROVIDING SANCTUARY TO ANIMALS IN THE MAYFIELD VALLEY
At Mayfield Alpacas we provide sanctuary to rabbits, guinea pigs, Shetland ponies, goats, pigs, ducks and chickens. Many of our animals have been rescued.

ENJOY A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE WITH OUR ALPACAS
Nestled in the heart of Mayfield Valley, our Alpaca Petting Farm and Sanctuary is a tranquil haven for animal lovers of all ages. We have a wide variety of animals and experiences to suit all ages and requirements.

We offer two types of Alpaca experiences as we wish to make this experience available to all. We offer a basic Alpaca experience which lasts for approximately 60 minutes and has a minimum booking requirement of two persons and a maximum of 6 people per booking. These sessions are only £23.00 per person.

During the basic Alpaca experience our trained animal handlers will take you and your group into an Alpaca enclosure and show you how we care and tend for these beautiful creatures. You will walk at least two of our Alpacas (dependant upon group size) around the Farm and our farm hand will give you some interesting facts and information about Alpacas throughout the experience.

More in-depth sessions are also available and are 90 minutes in duration. These experiences include a talk about the animals and a chance to walk a number of the Alpacas around the entire Farm and an opportunity to feed and groom our furry friends.

The experiences are suitable for all ages but under 16's must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Our Alpaca experiences are only suitable for those able to walk on uneven ground. Group sizes are restricted to 6 people per experience. Alpaca experiences must be pre-booked and are charged at £28.00 per person (for the 90 minute experience) with a minimum booking requirement of two persons per booking.
