Dounby Show

The Dounby Show, also known as the West Mainland Agricultural Show, is a significant annual event in Orkney's summer calendar, second in size only to the County Show. It's a large draw for families and the community, celebrating Orkney's agricultural heritage and providing a day out with various attractions. Visitors can expect to see fine livestock judging (horses, cattle, goats, poultry, and sheep), fairground rides, craft stalls, entertainment, local produce in the Food Hall, and numerous trade and fundraising stands. The show also includes events like main ring performances, penalty shooting competitions, and a pets parade. It serves as an important social gathering for farmers and families to connect and enjoy the best of the county's produce and crafts.
