Course overview
This course has a mixture of practical and theory and is delivered making use of the excellent Agricultural facilities including the workshop and machinery training yard.Students are able to access a range of additional learning support, based on need and are well supported through the use of virtual learning resources. A range of employability skills will be developed whilst on the course including practical skills, communication, and land-based environmental specific knowledge, and development of ICT skills. Students will also get the opportunity to carry out work experience on external placements. Units covered may include: Service and repair engines and their components, service and repair hydraulics and understanding chassis systems.On completion of this qualification you will be provided with the opportunity to apply for the second year, topping your course up to a Level 3 Diploma. You will also have the knowledge and skills to enter the Agricultural engineering industry. Former students who have left have worked as workshop engineers, farm fitters, machinery contractors, main dealership technicians and self-employed mechanics. The options are endless, and if you have enjoyed the education, this qualification will allow you to progress onto higher qualification including BSc (Hons) Agriculture here at Hadlow
