Course overview
Develop your practical farming skills on the College’s working organic farm, using both traditional and modern farming methods.You will gain practical experience of tractor fieldwork, estate skills and a range of stock tasks on the College farm, with opportunities to visit relevant shows and exhibitions. Learning will be underpinned by theoretical classroom work and backed up with relevant work experience in the industry. You can gain one of the following certificates of competence: telehandler, ATV, shearing or tractor driving. With a strong emphasis on combining traditional skills with modern technology and legislation, this course is ideal if you are working towards employment in the agricultural sector.Successful completion at Merit grade or above will allow you to progress to a Level 3 Extended Diploma or move into employment with an apprenticeship (entry requirements apply).Course contentYou will cover a diverse range of topics throughout your course.
