Chainsaw Training for Domestic Users

Course overview
This training course is specifically aimed to enable you safely use and maintain your chainsaw for personal use on private property.

Target audience:

This course is for candidates over the age of 16 wishing to develop their knowledge and understanding of how to use a chainsaw for domestic purposes. This course will enable you to become a more confident user meeting the current standards of good working practice. If you are using a chainsaw as part of your work, please look at our other courses which will provide you with the appropriate qualifications.

Due to the nature of this training a minimum level of fitness would be required for specific operations. Whilst we would not want to disadvantage anybody it is an essential requirement.

Upon completing the training in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting you will:

• Improve your awareness of health and safety legislation and how individuals can contribute to the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) agenda
• Carry out maintenance of chainsaw and cutting system
• Cross-cut timber using a chainsaw
• Equipment required

Candidates will need to bring their own chainsaw, safety helmet with mesh visor (or separate safety goggles), ear defenders, chainsaw trousers, gloves, protective footwear (with good grip and protective guarding at front vamp and instep) and waterproof coat.
