Course overview
This is a one day Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course, registered with Lantra. The course can cover up to two cutting mechanisms, eg rotary, flail or cylinder.The course covers the main causes of accidents and risks associated with the use of tractors and mowers, and the controls and components of the machine and implements. The course also covers the requirements for travelling on the public highway.Learners will also practice daily checks, pre-start checks and fault identification and maintenance. They will also recognise the safe working environment for tractor and mower combinations on typical ground surface conditions and assess the suitability of any ground before driving over it. Learners will adjust cutting mechanisms and operate the machine safely.Please be aware that the learner must already hold a current certificate of competence in tractor driving, from a recognised awarding body (eg Lantra or NPTC, City and Guilds)
