Course Overview
Holistic Financial Planning is a practical, cash-based planning process that helps you focus resources wisely, make profitable decisions, and strengthen the long-term health of your business and land.
Over eight weeks, you’ll learn how to build a financial plan that aligns with your ecological, social, and economic goals — ensuring that your decisions support both your livelihood, the land, and your farm business.
The process is designed to be simple, practical, and effective. It applies to any business, regardless of size, enterprise mix, or current financial situation.
Prerequisite: Course 1 — Holistic Management Fundamentals
What You’ll Achieve
Build a clear financial plan for your whole operation.
Focus your time and money on what truly matters.
Improve profitability without sacrificing land health.
Reduce financial stress and gain clarity on where to focus.
Make decisions that reflect your long-term goals.
What You’ll Learn
The Holistic Financial Planning Process — a step-by-step method for allocating resources to meet your most important priorities.
Enterprise Analysis — how to carry out a Gross Profit Analysis for each enterprise to identify what brings the most return for the least additional cost.
Cashflow Planning — how to track and manage cash effectively across seasons and conditions.
Decision-Making — how to test financial decisions against your holistic context.
Practical Application — how to adjust plans early, stay resilient, and avoid costly mistakes.
How It Works
Join the live online class from anywhere via Zoom. You’ll meet weekly with a 3LM Accredited Educator and a cohort of farmers and land managers working toward similar goals.
All sessions are recorded so you can revisit lessons or catch up anytime. Exercises between sessions help you apply the tools directly to your own business.
By the end of the eight weeks, you will have analysed your business, prioritised your expenditure, and created a clear cashflow plan.
Certificates & Accreditation
Participants receive a Certificate of Completion recognised by the Savory Institute. This course forms part of the official educational pathway toward becoming a Savory Institute Accredited Professional.
