Course overview
Crushing equipment turn big pieces of material into smaller pieces and then sort them into batches of similarly sized materials. They are usually found in the quarrying and material handling.What does the training course include?
Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operatorHave a working knowledge of a manufacture’s handbook for the particular machine to be usedBe able to locate and identify how the major components of the machine and explain their functionsBe able to locate and identify how to use the remote controlConduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirementsIdentify and maintain appropriate PPESafe mount and dismount crusherStart and stop engine, belts, feeder, jaws/hammer safelyConfigure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely across varying terrainConduct all necessary safety checks at the work areaExplain the different types of crushers, the advantages and disadvantages of using and how they crush the desired materialCarry out an emergency stop / safety precautionCarry out crushing tasksDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for crusher transportationEnvironmental considerationsCarrying out all end of shift and shut down procedures
