Diploma in Animal Care (Farm Animals and Countryside Skills) Level 2

This vocational course is equivalent to 4 GCSEs and could lead you to a career working with animals. You will gain practical ‘hands on’ experience working with farm animals.

Sessions will include theoretical knowledge to underpin your practical sessions in tasks such as feeding, lambing, foot trimming and wildlife rehabilitation.

Overview and modules

Your day to day practical sessions will take place at working farms and wildlife rehabilitation centres in the area.

British wildlife species and rehabilitation

Introduction to caring for farm livestock

Practical conservation skills

Field trips to locations such as the Brecon Beacons National Park, Animal Parks and National Nature reserves in South Wales will enhance your experience and provide an insight into gaining employment in the sector. Job opportunities could include working in animal parks/zoos and pet shops, farms and veterinary practices, wardens/rangers at national and country parks.
