Course overview
On the course you will learn about and undertake practical sessions in bathing, drying and preparing dogs for grooming. You will also develop skills in correct handling and restraining techniques so the dog is ready for health checks and grooming. Practical sessions in basic trimming will allow you to develop skills and confidence in using cutting equipment.
Your course will take place at the dog grooming salon at Taylor Hill. As part of the course you will develop knowledge about health and safety and how to work safely around animals. You will also study related subjects in animal accommodation, feeding and cleaning. The course will offer you the opportunity to carry out work experience at either a dog groomers or a related work placement with animals.
