Brooksby Campus has a wide range of habitats and diversity of land uses, which are ideally suited for environmental study. This course provides a hands-on route into the world of environmental science, coupling the theoretical knowledge with practical experience in the field, taking full advantage of our 850 acre estate.What will I learn?Year 1 Modules include: Professional Working Responsibilities; Plant and Soil Science; Work Experience; Countryside Estate Skills; Managing Environmental Habitats; Planting and Care of Trees; Freshwater and Wetland Management. Year 2 Modules include: Contemporary Issues; Woodland Management; Wildlife conservation and Management; Countryside Recreation; Managing Countryside Visitor Activities; Applied Ecology; Ecological Concepts; Physical Biological Environmental ProcessesWhere could this course lead to?Our students have gone on to work in a range of careers in the great outdoors, such as becoming an Ecological Surveyor, Conservation Worker, Fisheries Officer, Woodland Manager, Environmental Scientist, Environmental Consultant and more! Our Level 3 (2 year) courses allow students to progress on to University to study subjects such as ecology, wildlife conservation, countryside management or environmental management. SMB College Group also offers a Foundation Degree course in Applied Environmental Land Management.
